I have been studying Paganism since I was 15. In 1989, I didn't have
access to the internet, I lived in a small Nebraska town, and I didn't
know anyone who wasn't Christian. Combine that with living in an all
Catholic family, and studying was difficult. High School graduation and
attending college in 1992 allowed me to be begin to practice and
utilize more than the one book in my possession.
That was nearly 25 years, and many books, websites, teachers, students, and experiences ago.
I
am now part of a wonderful Pagan community where I hold many leadership
and teaching/mentoring positions. I lead my family (husband and two
step kids) in practice. I perform handfastings and other rites of
passage. These roles drive me to dig deeper. I'm constantly evolving
and experimenting to find what clicks with me. I hope this blog will
allow me to figure out just what my spiritual path is...and is not. By
doing so, I hope to gain a greater understanding of myself.
As we prepare to enter 2014, I find myself wanting, and maybe even needing, to define my belief system beyond "eclectic Pagan". Not only for myself, but for those I serve.
